Fakiru again, 9:10-9:40 am 10/27/09

1. I Stand Alone – Steve Perry

So he would dance for her, trying all the time to convince himself not to let her into his heart. He had always stood alone. That was his way. But her, with all her clumsiness and her quirks, had passed through his defenses into his heart. And it hurt. Everything he had succeeded in forgetting about was flooding back. All the memories, everything that could never be. Including her. And yet he didn't blame her. He guessed that was the way when you loved someone. So he would fight for her. He would lose – he was sure to lose – it had been written long ago. But then, he had always fought and lived alone. What would be the difference in dying alone… for her?

2. Once Upon a December – Deana Carter

She was dreaming again. In her dream, she stood on human legs upon the surface of her lake. The familiar mist surrounded her, but she was alone. On the edges of her vision Rue, Mytho, and Fakir all danced, but when she tried to find them she could not. She didn't know which one to follow. Rue had always been her friend, and probably knew best how she felt, but she thought that she was in love with Mytho… but then she remembered how her heart broke when she thought she'd lost Fakir, and how he lifted her spirits in the lake of despair, knowing exactly what she needed… She looked up again, and there he was. He was smiling, and she saw that he held his hands in the mime for love. She quacked in surprise, and looked across at the sleeping boy of her dreams. He stirred and groaned.
"What is it, Ahiru?" he mumbled.

3. Simply Irresistable – Robert Palmer

The moron. The idiot! How could she not realize what she was doing to him? Every time she talked to him nowadays it was like she was trying to provoke him into kissing her or confessing his love for her. It had almost been easier to bear when she was in love with Mytho. He had a more solid reason to resist his love for her. But now that he wasn't sure it was almost impossible. Fakir finally broke one day when she asked him if he would help her in her practice. She had been working en pointe and fallen directly into his arms. And in that moment he lost all self control and kissed her. Whatever he had expected it wasn't what she had done. She wrapped her arms around his neck after a moment of surprise. Simply irresistible. That was all he could say in explanation when they separated.

4. Shall We Dance? – From The King and I

They stood away from the others, and Fakir wondered how he had gotten roped into going to this ridiculous festival. Ahiru deliberated. She had come to dance, but Fakir would neither ask her to, or let anyone else approach to ask. His presence alone was enough of a deterrent, without the added scowl he displayed. She took a deep breath. She was just going to have to do it herself, she decided. "Fakir?" she squeaked, turning to him. He scowled down at her without answering. "Would you dance with me?"

5. Landslide – Fleetwood Mac

Ahiru sat alone under a tree by her lake, staring out into the water, wondering. She wondered how Fakir felt about her. He had been acting strangely lately. One minute he would be his usual sullen self, but then in the next moment he'd smile at her, or say something encouraging and kind, and all-around melt her heart. It was getting confusing. She had given up on him ever loving her back, but sometimes she thought he just might! They weren't as young as they had been, and her love had simply grown with her understanding of him. "Moron. What are you doing out here in the cold?" Ahiru jumped. There he went again, acting concerned and insulting all at the same time. "What's that supposed to mean?!" she returned.

6. I Will Always Be With You – From All Dogs Go to Heaven II

That's what he had said to her, and she believed him. Every day she thought of a thousand things she would like to say to him, because she had never said thank you, for one, but he was right. They had to be themselves. So all she could do was nuzzle his hand when he offered it. But if he should ever… if he ever doubted and wrote their story… she knew exactly what she'd say. She could feel her last transformation shifting her body. "Fakir, I love you!"

So I was bored during a free... I actually thought about doing Sarah/Jareth, but I felt like writing Fakiru again... and apparently I was especially fond of double-meanings that morning... or is it that I'm always fond of double-meanings before 10:00...?

1. Um, inevitable much?
2. MY FAVORITE, because (as I only realized when I was looking this over agian) not only can you see her as a duck lying next to him, but also as a human, which just makes me happy and furthers the whole mysterious on-the-edge-of-consciousness air.
3. I'll admit I got excited when this song came up. It was just too good to be true! :XD: I think I need to get out more...
4. Surprisingly the most difficult. It took me a while to figure out what I could do with it, which left very little time for actually articulating that half-formed idea...
5. Again, double meaning at the end! Like I said, I need to get out more...
6. Love this song, and it fits Fakiru perfectly, but it gave me trouble with writing... it's sort of... half-formed. A string of words you could put together really any way you like. I think it's really quite innovative.... *is shot for the blatant Music and Lyrics reference*

Now I really want to do one of these with all musical stuff... oh the horrors when Starlight Express inevitably pops up... :XD: Or Rocky Horror Picture Show... that might get a little... risque...
